What are Counterfeit Drugs? 

According to the WHO, “a counterfeit medicine is one which is deliberately and fraudulently mislabeled with respect to its identity and/or source. Counterfeiting can apply to both branded and generic products and counterfeit products may include products with the correct or wrong ingredients, without active ingredients, with insufficient active ingredients or with fake packaging.”

How to Identity Fake Drugs Before you get any new medicine for the first time, talk to a health care professional such as your doctor or pharmacist

  • Always Check for Packaging

    Always check for physical appearance of medicine its color , texture , shape and packaging.

  • Check for Price

    Price: if the price is too good to be true, it probably is.

  • Pill Test

    Pill itself: if it has an unusual colour, shape or smell different from that which you are used to if you have been taking the drug before, do not use
